Q : How did Oedipus kill Laius and where.

Answer:-

The oracle at Delphi tells the king and queen of Thebes that their son will kill his father and wed his mother. So, they tie his feet and tell a shepherd take him to the mountain. But the shepherd takes pity on the infant child and gives him to another shepherd and that shepherd takes him to Corinth.

But when Oedipus becomes aware of the fact that one day he will bring tragedy in the lives of his father and mother, he determines to leave Corinth far Thebes. On his way to Thebes he becomes to cross road (where three roads meet) and there Oedipus meets a man driving a cart. When he is told to make way for the whole possession, he refuses to do so. As a result of that the old man (who was actually his father,Laius) strikes Oedipus and a violent tussle between Oedipus and Laius takes place. And in that tussle when Laius strikes Oedipus, he strikes him back (''with interest'') and with one blow he makes him roll on the ground. And in this way Oedipus kills his biological father Laius unwittingly.
